Serial interface security controllers
Comprehensive serial interface security controller portfolio featuring advanced architectures for diverse applications
Our serial interface security controller portfolio has several sophisticated controller architectures supporting a applications as diverse as (e)SIM, government and digital ID, TPM, USB tokens, etc. These architectures range from a 16-bit architecture based on the MCS®251 instruction set to high-performance 32-bit Arm® core-based CPUs, enhanced with Infineon Technologies’ cache and security technologies.
Key features
- 16 to 32-bit architecture
- EMVCo
- Up to CC EAL 6+
- Up to 2MB NVM
We provide a full range of security controllers for eSIM Consumer, eSIM M2M and the new eSIM IOT applications as defined at GSMA and ETSI to allow the smallest possible form factors without compromising on performance and security. From 240kB up to 2 MB of NVM memory, we increase flexibility and simplify the deployment and maintenance of eSIM solutions, enabling late-stage personalization and in-the-field firmware updates.
Infineon offers a comprehensive product portfolio addressing all governmental ID project needs.
The serial interface security controllers are optimized for use in all contact-based Government ID applications, from electronic drivers licenses and health care cards to electronic national ID documents. All controllers integrate a Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART) supporting serial communication according to ISO/IEC 7816-3.
Many existing and new applications such as USB dongles, Enterprise ID, cryptographic toolbox, secured vaults, NFC tokens with different requirements on memory size, cryptographic performance and also on security certification can be easily developed on our products using our development kits and emulators for fast prototyping and short time-to-market. Our serial interface security controllers are certified up to security level CC EAL6+ (high).
